Our Embassy remains closed on 27 August 2018, due to Heroes' Day (26 August), a public holiday in Namibia which commemorates the day when SWAPO proclaimed the armed struggle for the liberation of Namibia, then South-West Africa, after the first SWAPO soldiers completed their training.

Am 27. August 2018 bleibt unsere Botschaft wegen eines Feiertags geschlossen. Am Heldengedenktag, dem Heroes' Day (26. August), wird in Namibia an den Tag im Jahr 1966 erinnert, als die SWAPO den bewaffneten Kampf für die Freiheit Namibias, damals noch Südwest-Afrika, ausrief, nachdem die ersten SWAPO Kombattanten ihre Ausbildung beendet hatten.
