HOLY SEE
On 9 January 2023, H.E. Ambassador Andjaba, attended the New Year Greetings by His Holiness Pope Francis to Members of the Diplomatic Corps accredited to the Holy See. In His Address, the Pope emphasized peace and reinvigorating democracy, and stressed that the task of diplomacy is precisely to resolve conflicts and to “foster a climate of reciprocal cooperation and trust for the sake of meeting common needs”.
GERMANY
On 12 January 2023, in the morning, Ambassador Andjaba attended the New Year Reception for the Diplomatic Corps accredited to Germany by Dr. Frank-Walter Steinmeier, President of the Federal Republic of Germany. President Steinmeier dedicated his New Year’s Address to the 75th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights of 1948, and appealed to the Diplomatic Corps to strengthen “what we have in common” and to “stand firmly by those who are fighting for their human rights”.
POLAND
In the evening of 12 January 2023, Ambassador Andjaba attended the New Year’s Meeting hosted by H.E. Andrzej Duda, President of the Republic of Poland, with Heads of Diplomatic Missions accredited to Poland. On 13 January 2023, Ambassador Andjaba paid a courtesy call on Ms. Patrycja Özcan-Karolewska, Director of the Department of Africa and the Middle East at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland, to discuss matters of mutual interest and how to strengthen and increase bilateral relations and cooperation between Namibia and Poland.
CZECH REPUBLIC
On 18 January 2023, Ambassador Andjaba attended the New Year’s Meeting of the Czech Senators with members of the Diplomatic Corps accredited to the Czech Republic. On 19 January 2023, the Ambassador attended the New Year’s Reception hosted by H.E. Jan Lipavský, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic at the Czernin Palace.
