On 12 May 2025, the Embassy celebrated the 35th Independence of the Republic of Namibia. Ms. Serap Güler, Newly appointed Minister of State at the Federal Foreign Office, delivered the keynote address on behalf of the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany.

Ladies and gentlemen,
On behalf of Federal Foreign Minister Wadephul, I extend my heartfelt congratulations to the Republic of Namibia on this very special day, the 35th anniversary of its independence.
It is a great honour for me to celebrate this special occasion — your National Day — together with you tonight. And, if I might add, this is my third working day in office and one of my very first commitments as Germany’s new Minister of State. So, it is truly special to me, to be able to celebrate with you on this day of pride, of remembrance, and of hope.
