Position: Cleaner / Cook (Official Residence)
Contract Type: Two (2) Years Renewable

Duty Station: Berlin, Germany

The Embassy of the Republic of Namibia in Berlin invites suitably qualified and experienced candidates to apply for the position of Cleaner / Cook at the Official Residence of the Ambassador.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience in cleaning and cooking, preferably in a diplomatic or hospitality environment.

  • Must possess a valid work permit for Germany or be a citizen/permanent resident of an EU Member State.

  • Must provide a recent police clearance certificate.

  • Ability to communicate effectively in English (German language skills will be an added advantage).

  • Must be reliable, trustworthy, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities:

Cleaner Duties

  • Ensure the daily cleaning and maintenance of all rooms, including living areas, kitchen, bathrooms, and guest rooms at the residence.

  • Perform laundry and ironing of household linen and clothing.

  • Maintain proper cleanliness and hygiene standards throughout the residence.

  • Assist with household errands and general upkeep as required.

Cook Duties

  • Prepare daily meals for the Ambassador, family, and guests as requested.

  • Plan and execute menus for official functions, luncheons, and receptions.

  • Maintain kitchen cleanliness and ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene standards.

  • Manage kitchen inventory, including the purchasing and storage of food supplies.

Remuneration:

An annual salary of €45,019.50, equivalent to a monthly salary of €3,751.63, inclusive of transport allowance and fixed overtime.
